Biography

State Representative Rob Kauffman was elected to the Legislature representing the 89th Legislative District in 2004. The district covers portions of Cumberland County consisting of the townships of Shippensburg and Southampton and the borough of Shippensburg and part of Franklin County consisting of the townships of Greene, Guilford (part), Letterkenny, Lurgan and Southampton and the boroughs of Chambersburg, Orrstown and Shippensburg.

Rep. Kauffman serves on the House Consumer Affairs, Tourism and Recreational Development and Gaming Oversight committees. He also serves as a Deputy Republican Whip and a member of the House Republican Policy Committee task force on health care. 

A graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School and the American University School of Public Affairs in Washington, D.C., before being elected to serve the people of the 89th Legislative District, Kauffman had served as vice chairman of the Greene Township Board of Supervisors.

In his community, Kauffman is president of Pregnancy Ministries Inc. He is a member of the Greene Township Lions Club, the Shippensburg Area Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Chambersburg Chamber of CommerceFranklin County Farm Bureau, Capitol Theatre, the Franklin County Historical Society—Kittochtinny, the Shippensburg Historical Society, the Franklin County Republican Committee and the National Rifle Association.

Rep. Kauffman and his wife Niki live in Scotland, located in Greene Township. In addition to their children Abby (8), Will (6), and Andrew (4), they recently welcomed another son, Caleb, to their family. The whole family is active in the ministries of their local church, Bethel Assembly of God—Chambersburg, PA, where Rob serves on the deacon board.
